We finally find news about Gale's character on "EQUAL", the tv series-documentary will premiere on HBO in October in recognition of LGBTQ History Month.

Gale will be "Howard Smith, an Oscar-winning director, producer and journalist, reported from inside the Stonewall Inn during the riots by gaining entrance with his Village Voice reporter’s police credentials".
