The day at the Seattle Grace continues. While Lexie is trying desperately to stop the bleeding of her patient’s carotid artery, Derek is operating on the brain of the ambulance’s driver who has caused the crash, but the computer breaks and the doctor is forced to stop the delicate surgery. Fortunately, thanks to one nurse and her informatics knowledge, they fixed it and Derek successfully completes the operation.

Meanwhile, in the other operation room, Bailey is done operating Shane, the paramedic with a swastika tattooed on his abdomen (played by our Gale). But as she’s going to her husband, Tucker, who has been waiting for hours, complications arise and she is forced to came back to the operation room. Bailey asks George to tell his husband that, unfortunately, he'll have to wait a little bit longer. There is a brief exchange between the two partners, via George, then Tucker says he’s had enough of all that and goes away. Bailey is upset and stitches up Shane’s wound so that his swastika tattoo is mismatched. Straight after the surgery Bailey is approached by Cristina who accuses the woman to have pulled her off from Hahn’s team only to use her skin colour to bother the patient.

Following ,as George is treating him, Shane complains for the fact that his tattoo is irreparably ruined and he is sure that Bailey did it on purpose, then asks information about his colleague Mary. George is surprised that the man is friend with the woman , since she is coloured. Shane says him that he isn’t a monster but only a person with firm believes and he isn’t that different than other people. George replies that if he’s still alive is only thanks to Bailey, that is a coloured woman. Indeed ,if she has not been in the operation room he would been certainly dead, but if so probably the world would has been a better place.

Meredith, in the front seat of the upside-down ambulance checks Ray’s conditions with an ultrasound. Richard sees that the pericardium of the poor paramedic is full of blood and calls for backup.

Meanwhile the patient with the haemorrhage at the carotid artery seems stabilized and Sloan orders Lexie and Cristina to prepare him for the surgery, but while they carry the patient to the operation room something goes wrong and he starts having a stroke. In addition, when they arrive in the operation room they find it occupied by Hahn, who is operating on Sloan and Karev’s patient ,whose heart-stitches have given out. Sloan, Cristina and Lexie move the poor boy to a sterile procedure room but his conditions are desperate and he doesn’t survive.

Izzie has a discussion with Hahn who reproaches her to behave like a social worker instead of a surgeon so the girl doesn’t update the family of her patient during the surgery as promised. For this reason, later, the patient’s wife accuses her to be an insensible person and to not have kept her word. Izzie then realizes that she’ll never be a woman as strong as Hahn or Cristina; afterwards she tells George, who tries to encourage her, telling her that this is a positive thing.

Lexie is devastated by the death of her patient. Cristina commends her ,saying that she has been very brave, but Lexie replies that she has realized to be alone. So Cristina brings her to Meredith's. At first Meredith is surprised but then invites Lexie to drink with them. Later, all together, they blow off the stress with a releasing dance in the living room. .
