Cassie wants to try out her own powers, but she can’t handle them.

Adam asks his father not to anger Charles, since of both his important position as a lawyer in the Town Council and as Diana’s dad.

At Faye’s home the paternal grandfather, Henry, shows up, saying he’s in town for business.

In the school corridors Cassie meets class president Sally Matthews, who invites her to the local fair; the conversation is cut off by Faye, apologizing to Cassie for having triggered the storm.
The girl claims to be very excited by the new power they all have, but she is against the idea of a ritual binding them together forever. Cassie demands to be left alone.

Dawn calls Charles to let him know about the visit she had in the morning. The woman is worried about Henry figuring their use of witchcraft, but Charles reassures her: they have been very careful
while covering their tracks. Dawn requires Charles not to drop his guard, since she can’t relax due to her relationship with her father-in-law, who believes her to be responsible for his son Tom’s death.

During a class in the lab, Faye and Melissa test out their powers, but when Cassie notices and gets mad, she unwillingly causes a fire and a small explosion. The girl is frightened, she’d like to stop her power, but she can’t.

Ethan talks to Henry. It was him who got the man back in town, preoccupied by Charles using a power he shouldn’t have: it was taken from all the people in the Circle many years ago. Ethan recalls how Charles used a Signa spell to nearly drown him on the floor.

Adam shows Cassie how to let the energy flow through her body to light a bulb, however, when he approaches the girl, the bulb in Cassie’s hand blows up.

Diana tries once again to convince Cassie to gather the Circle, but Cassie won’t have it. Faye is still sure she doesn’t need the ritual to get a hold of her power, all she needs is exercise. Melissa instead starts to think that Diana is right.

Henry faces his daughter-in-law, and asks her after Charles and the spell used on Ethan, but Dawn reminds him it was Henry’s Circle itself to drain their powers, so it would have been impossible for Charles to practice magic. Henry maintains to be concerned by his granddaughter and the renewed magic in the latest Circle: they need to stop the new generation’s powers, to avoid a tragedy on Faye’s Circle as well. Dawn is willing to give Henry a hand.

Dawn meets Charles, scolds him for having gone too far with Ethan, and asks him to give her the crystal back: within the crystal belong all the powers they have, they shouldn’t be wasted.

Using magic one more time is exciting, however the whole plan is more important, so the man nods and hands her the object.

At the Sea Fair, Faye challenges Cassie to a demonstration of their powers in a new storm, but things get out of hand and Faye’s rage pushes Sally until she falls onto the rocks as a result. Their friend lies lifeless, the only one who can save her is Dawn, through the crystal.

Charles figures out that the woman has used the crystal, and blames her for wasting it, but Dawn stands up for her gesture, since she wanted Faye to feel free from any sense of guilt derived from Sally’s death. The man appears to sympathize with her: he would have done the same thing for his own daughter.

The just passed tragedy makes Faye and Cassie change their mind: they have to bind the Circle, in order to avoid the power of each one of them to wound anyone. The teens decide to meet at the beach.

Henry finally knows everything, and confronts Dawn asking her for the crystal: the following day he would go to the Elders to report the happenings. Dawn denies him the crystal and uses its power for causing the man a heart attack, killing him.

Diana shares with Adam her feeling of insecurity about both the ritual and Cassie’s presence in his life, but he calms her down. Soon after the guy is with Cassie in the car driving to the beach, and their energy combined gets a streetlamp to explode.

At the beach, the kids gather around a bonfire and the ritual is accomplished.
