The guys realize they’re now able to use their powers only when they’re together. The news don’t sit well with Faye, while Diana thinks the people in the Circle should be closer even as friends, but Cassie despises the idea.

Melissa would love to have Nick taking her to the school prom: she’s tired to carry on with him a relationship solely based on sex, however, Nick doesn’t intend to give in.

Luke’s interested in Cassie and asks Adam to introduce him to her before asking her out for the prom: at first the girl refuses the invitation, but then she makes up her mind and accepts it.

Charles catches up with principal Chamberlain at her workplace to keep her informed: Henry’s body has been brought in the man’s own home on the lake, but there was no sigh of the crystals in the habitation. The woman feels guilty about killing her daughter’s grandfather, but Charles claims it was Henry’s behaviour to rule her choices. Dawn is still troubled.
The two of them discuss moves for accelerating their plan, since they don’t want to be caught.
Exiting the office, Charles meets his daughter Diana and justifies his presence there by telling her he was discussing financial plans with the principal.

At Boathouse, an old friend of Amelia recognizes Cassie: his name’s Zachary, and he knows all about Cassie being a witch and the ‘accident’ of sixteen years before. The man tries to assault Cassie, who is rescued thanks to Diana’s arrival.

The Circle argue the incident at the abandoned house, worried by being helpless now that they have no more individual powers.

Charles asks Diana to fill him in and he recalls how Zachary Larson had tried to stir up trouble when he was younger; he suggests her to keep away from him. Diana asks her father what’s going on between him and Dawn: after remarking again his collaboration with the school, he’s forced to admit he’s dating her. Diana is happy for him.

Cassie looks for information about Zachary, then asks Diana about the infamous incident. The girl believes the fire was bound to magic, so the two girlfriends decide to find the truth.

Charles tells Dawn that Zachary is back in town, but he’s not afraid of the man knowing something that could damage them, since he wasn’t there during the past incident. The woman instead is upset: she believes that Amelia could have told Zachary everything and that Cassie’s arrival could push him into revealing their secrets; finally, she asks Charles to talk to the man. Charles nods, and confides to her that he was kind of compelled to confess Diana to having a “relationship” with her, in order to keep the true reason of their meetings a secret.

At the prom, Diana talks to the principal and tells her she’s happy about her dating her father.

Thanks to Sally, Cassie and Adam end up dancing together, talking about the friendship between the girl and Diana and how different that bound is between Cassie and him. He proclaims himself to believe that the presence of the Circle is going to change everything.

At the abandoned house, Zachary attacks Faye, but the girl can’t protect herself while she’s alone, so the man figures that the Circle has already been reunited. Faye manages to get away and catches up with the rest of the group at the school.

Charles meets Zachary on his sailboat and shrugs off his accusations of witchcraft by calling them rumours, just as when they were teens. Zachary is very suspicious: Amelia told him all the details when they were still friends, before she kept herself at distance from him and Heather and joined the other members of the Circle. Zachary fears a new ‘incident’, so he’s determined to kill one of the kids in the new Circle to avoid it. After beating Charles up, Zachary goes to the school.

In the school archive the guys discover the names of the victims of the fire: among them there was Heather Barnes, Zachary’s girlfriend, so they think this is what the man holds their parents responsible for.

Melissa confides to Diana that she’s sure of Nick hating her, but Diana calms her down: the guy is acting that way due to his parents’ loss.
When Faye runs into Nick in the corridors, she orders him to treat Melissa right: she deserves better.

Charles lets Dawn know that Zachary is moving against the Circle, ready to harm the kids. The two of them divide to hunt him.

Zachary runs after Cassie, but the Circle gets to her in time and, with its power, the teens are able to make him fly to the ceiling and then fall to the ground unconscious. The man maintained previously that Heather didn’t die in the fire, but Amelia had done something way worse to her. When Dawn reaches the kids, they tell her what happened and she believes them, then she calls Charles.

Nick offers Melissa a lift and proposes spending more time together.

Diana accompanies Cassie to her home and reveals that she’s aware of the way Adam looks at her; Cassie reassures her by stating there’s nothing between her and the guy. Diana is relieved and claims to have been in love with him since always.

Charles and Dawn have gagged Zachary and put him in the boot of the car. They’re going to let him go, but first he’ll be marked by Dawn’s blood: in case of approaching once again their children, she and Charles will know how to find him and will make his life a sheer hell, worse than Heather’s.
